A History Of Made Goods Furniture And Lighting
Made Goods is a Los Angeles, California-based furniture wholesale brand synonymous with practicality, comfort, and uniqueness in a class of its own. The brand is one of five under the luxury home furnishing wholesaler Ardmore Home Design Group.
Featured in HGTV Magazine, New York Cottages and Gardens, Atlanta Homes, New England Home, and more, Made Goods is an exclusive forerunner for home decor, furniture, and custom designs. Made Goods is committed to providing high-quality products and services while maintaining originality.
Early Beginnings
Made Goods was co-founded by owners and partners Oscar Yague and Chris DeWitt in Los Angeles. Yague originally moved to Philadelphia from Barcelona in 1999 to start a Spanish imports business but changed paths when he met with the president of the popular lifestyle brand, Anthropologie.
He began as an intern for Anthropologie and over the span of the next ten years, Yague assisted the brand in reaching 120 stand-alone locations. DeWitt, on the other hand, worked in advertising for brands like Nike, Free People, and Urban Outfitters.
Made Goods was born from a love of design and wholesale and Yague’s frustration at the need for one home furnishings category: mirrors. So, when DeWitt changed career paths and started to work for Disney, the two moved to California. Here Yague met up with his contacts from abroad to begin sourcing mirrors and ultimately plant the seeds of Made Goods.
Made Goods officially launched in January 2009. From custom-designed mirrors, the company grew to decorative boxes and frames, then beds, nightstands, and dressers. Today Made Goods boasts luxury items in every category, from credenzas and buffets to outdoor furniture and bath vanities.
Yague and DeWitt credit Made Goods’ success with the opulence of their talents: a love of numbers and marketing. Yague is a notorious spreadsheet analyzer, and DeWitt is an expert marketer. The central reason for their success, they say, is their commitment to client feedback.
